Introducing ... Granny Mouse Toddler House
Following on from the success of Granny Mouse Baby House, we have decided to launch Baby House Toddler House from 1st June 2011, where we will cater for toddlers from the age of 18 months to 3 years old.
Situated conveniently on the property next door, the toddler house is easily accessible from the greater Benoni area with easy access to the N12 highway.
About us
Granny Mouse Baby House has been successfully running since July 2007, and as such the Toddler House is a natural extension to the facility.
It is the intention of the Toddler House to create a fun, loving, stimulating environment for our toddlers as they embark on the next step towards being a pre-schooler.
Mission and Values
Our mission and values remain consistent with what we have achieved at the Baby House, and include:
- A gentle approach towards encouraging independence in a loving, caring environment resulting in a confident toddler;
- The time your toddler spends at the Toddler house should be well balanced, and meet not only the education needs of the developing toddler, but most importantly, the emotional needs as well;
- By catering to the very specific needs of just toddlers, we provide a wonderful platform for toddlers to develop physically, emotionally and socially and at an age appropriate pace.
- Granny Mouse Toddler House strives to equip our babies for a smooth transition to a traditional pre-school at a more appropriate age.
- We operate a professional environment geared to ensuring emotional intelligence in our toddlers, and therefore we believe in responding to our toddlers needs effectively and without delay.
Staffing
The toddler house is headed by an energetic, dedicated and well qualified pre-school teacher supported by assistant teachers who ensure that our toddlers receive one on one attention at all times.
All staff are fully trained in child care and paediatric first aid and also understand the importance of laying the correct foundation for our toddlers.
Nutrition
All meals offered are freshly prepared on a daily basis, under the supervision of the Day Care Principal. Meals provided by Granny Mouse are breakfast, mid morning snack, a cooked lunch including fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as juice, tea, water and snacks and an afternoon snack.
We ensure that meals are not only colourful and nutritious, but are also rotated on a regular basis to keep the meals exciting for the toddlers, who simply love new experiences!
Sleeping
- Every toddler is issued with a new waterproof mattress and a blanket on enrollment for exclusive use at the Toddler House.
- Sleep and play areas are separated.
- To avoid over-stimulation, all toddlers sleep during the day according to age appropriate routines.
Development, Play and Daily Activities
- All toddlers are afforded the opportunity to enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities on a daily basis.
- Age appropriate toys, arts and crafts are enjoyed on a daily basis, and we plan weekly themes throughout the year.
Operating Hours
The operating hours of the toddler house are 07:00 to 18:00 daily.
